at an empty table @ Great Hall [noon] | locked to LelouchgurenpilotingNovember 1 2011, 02:29:17 UTC
[It's been only a few weeks at Hogwarts, yet it feels like her stay has been far longer than that. So many things have happened to her: living at the Gryffindor house, getting to know her housemates, taking classes, learning new spells day by day... and not to mention finding out that certain people from back home are here, some of them who are supposed to be dead
( ... )
[She should be grabbing something to eat by now; it's already lunch time but then again, she wants to push aside any feeling of hunger. Is her anguish really this bad that she won't bother eating? It's a rather unnerving feeling all the same, not exactly the kind she wants to experience right now. In the meantime, she really ought to practice her transfiguration spells some more or catch up on her studies instead of wasting any more time thinking of that boy.
The sudden rumbling in her stomach instantly distracts her, though, and this is her cue to rise from the table and finally push aside any nagging feelings. She really needs to eat, anyway.
Just as she's about take a few more steps, her eyes automatically lock on the one person she's been wanting to see all this time. Sure, he's reading now but-]
Lelouch!
[She immediately cries out as her steps towards him are becoming louder and louder.]
[ Feet up on the table, Ed's got a drumstick in one hand and a book situated in his lap. After the past weekend, he's felt a bit of self-awareness combined with disappointment that he wasn't able to do more. Were this Amestris, had he had his alchemy, he could've done so much more. But the limitations in place that prevented him from taking care of things in his usual way had hindered the kind of impact he'd liked to have had. And then, seeing the headmaster appear on the staircase like he had, giving only a whirl of his wand before decimating the inferi forces, Ed felt even more out of his element than usual. Which was why, even with the festivities going on around him, he was going through his book and trying to memorize as many spells as possible.
That and using the drumstick in his fingers as a temporary wand to practice motions. He probably looks a bit silly, but at the moment, he doesn't give a damn. ]
[Kallen grabs a small plate filled with fruit on hand and a plate of chicken in another. Yes, to an on-looker this may be silly on her part, but damn it, she's hungry. All the food in here looks delicious, after all, and it's enough to distract her from what she could have done, or should have done, during the attacks. If she were back in Japan, she could have been tinkering with the Guren's control panel again and fixing its energy filler, or actually taking care of her mother.
Enough of the "could have" situations, she thinks contemplatively to herself as she sits down at the table across from a familiar blond, putting both plates down with an eyebrow raise. A flicker of amusement is apparent when she glances at her housemate.]

Is this how you usually study, Ed?
