Hello, Layton.

[Clovis gives a little wave to his professor and who he believes is someone who can understand him -- as such, this means that he shall consider him a "friend." He has come out of hiding beneath his bed and decided to settle his fears the same way he handles everything else that bothers him; by pretending that what is frightening or troubling him does not exist.

He does look at the various pieces of parchment and relics though with a slight confused expression, however.]

Good morning, Clovis.

[Layton tips his tophat in return and chuckles lightly when he sees Clovis' expression.] It was a puzzle I had in mind, but I decided to reserve it for later once we have more Advanced students coming in. It's very involved. For today, I was planning on handing out a small quiz once class starts.

[OOC: I hope you don't mind I changed the post a little. I wrote this up like at midnight and read it again in the morning and was all 'what the hell did I just write'. SO. All the stuff is in the room, but it won't be used. Sorry for the confusion!]

[Clovis pauses for a short second later as he realizes that there is going to be a quiz. Why is there going to be a quiz? Why?]

Were we supposed to study for your quiz?

[Both surprised and intrigued by the lesson plan they've been set, Alayne is studiously looking over each artefact. This is quite different from anything she's done before - but she knows how valuable knowledge of history can be. She's no scholar, but she notes down another answer on her paper.]

[Since the classes are much smaller than those back in Gressenheller University, Layton is more free to travel between the desks and observe his students. Some hide their indifference to History very well. As for others, Layton has had to tap a few desks of some students who were starting to nod off.

So, he was genuinely pleased to see someone interested and doing quite well on the paper.] Very good, Miss Alayne.

[She's barely noticed his approach, but at the sound of her name she looks up, a smile lighting her features.]

Thank you, Professor. Will you be telling us more about the cultures these relics have come from?
