Who: Professor Layton and the HOM class.
Where: HOM Hallway, second classroom on the right.
When: Tuesday, October 18th [ 11:30 am elective period ]
What: History of Magic: Unraveling Mysterious, Magical Civilizations and Lost Ruins
Rating: this is Layton. G for gentleman. :| Or PG, maybe.
[Disregard the earlier puzzle as it was a mess and I shouldn't write things at midnight.
INSTEAD, Layton will be handing the students various relics that will tell them a quote or passage from the textbook. The students will then have to look it up in the textbook. They'll have a piece of paper on their desk that they must fill out, linking the relic with its ancient civilization. It's about ten questions long. The other part is asking what the relic does.
What the relic says or is from or does, is totally up to you!]

[ Once everyone is seated, Layton addresses the class. ]
Good morning everyone. I am glad to see everyone is well. For those I have not met yet, I am Professor Layton and I will be teaching you A History of Magic: Unraveling Mysterious, Magical Civilizations and Lost Ruins.
[Layton walks over to the ruin on the desk. With a flick of the wand, he levitates the ruin to the desk before the students.] Today, we will begin with our first civilization and see the other civilizations we will be discussing this term. What are the names of these civilizations?
[Layton smiles as he tips his tophat.]
You're all going to be revealing that today.
Tap the relics with your wands and they'll recite a quote or passage from your textbook. And, I know none of you would ever try this, but should anyone try to cheat the answer out of any of the items, you will find an unwelcome surprise.
Also, these relics do a special task. You'll have to figure out just what this special task. I'll give you all a hint. Most won't require more than a simple tap in the right place, and a few others might require a very simple charm. If you're having trouble with a charm, you may come to me for help.
You are free to partner up. No more than groups of three. Those that correctly fill out the whole list in class will earn 10 points for their house. If you are in a group and finish it, each person will earn 5 points for their house. Think critically and carefully. For a wrong answer, the amount of points you can earn for a right answer decreases. For now, Intermediate and Advanced students may mix.
Now, everyone, take out your A History of Magic textbook and feel free to move about the classroom. You have the rest of the class time to come up with your answers.
[OOC: HOM for Layton will take place every Tuesday. Also, please put in your subject line if it is okay for Layton and/or other students to threadjack. Yes, the first class is a puzzle /o/, but he will teach normally most of the time. Also, anyone's allowed to hop in, even if you haven't signed up yet.
Also I might be just a tad slow. Definitely not because I'm playing The Last Specter, nope.]
