[He's early to the first class he's supposed to attend at this magic school, which is nothing out of the ordinary as Tieria wakes up even before the sun is up, like he usually does back in Celestial Being. Never a slept in kind of person, he makes his way to the dungeons with his cauldron and what has been described as potions ingredients. He is not looking forward to this class at all, especially after reading though the textbook. But nevertheless, he will attends the class.

Seating in the middle row of the class, he perks up when the instructor enters the dungeon and listens carefully as Snape proceeds with his speech. Like everyone else, he's in his Hogwarts uniform, however, he's clearly missing the school robe. Tieria has refused to put it on for the fact that the robe is not only silly but also cumbersome in every way. He can put up with wearing the rest of the uniform of a school he's forced to attend, but a robe? No.]

[It's when he calls Tieria's name while taking roll that Snape notices the lack of the robe with a frown. Whatever the students may think, those robes were specially designed as to weave in special protection charms into them for classes such as Potions. Granted, they were basic and would be of no real help when it came to serious spills, but if the potion was simple enough and merely splashed onto the robes, the spells would be enough to buy them enough time to remove it from themselves.]

Mr. Erde, would you care to enlighten the class as to why you are not following the dress code set down by Hogwarts? Or do you feel yourself above that as well?

[Tieria doesn't think about the protective charms of the robe -he still hasn't fully accepted all this magical whish whash thing-. His only concern with wearing those robes is that it's cumbersome and much too restrictive to his liking. Being a pilot, he's used to body suit, not something that hangs off all over him.]

I will not wear not wear something that has so much posibilities of getting me into safety hazards. [And no title for Snape, in fact, he hasn't calls any of the professor by their title except Layton.]

You will address me as either 'sir' or 'Professor', Mr. Erde, or you will find yourself losing more than the five points you just lost for Ravenclaw.

[Snape is not one to tolerate disrespect.]

Another five points will be taken off for your blatant disregard and ignorance of the school rules. The robes will only pose a safety hazard should you be so careless as to let them become so. Otherwise, you will find the charms woven in with them to be on the protective side in this class. Now, kindly return to your dormitory and retrieve them.

[This Gryffindor is a pro at doing two things at once, one thing being to listen and the other being to read through a history book. His attention is snagged however, at the 'stopper in death' comment. Great. Something else he doesn't really want to fall into the wrong hands.]

[Kaito shuts the book quietly and relaxes back in his chair. The professor need not ever know he didn't have his absolute and complete attention seeing as a phantom thief had to be a professional at doing the obvious without drawing attention to himself, otherwise he probably would have ended up in prison by the second or third heist. And hey, it was a useful technique in school too.]

[If Kaito thought that the man who had been a spy for the last 18 or so years would miss the fact that one of his students (and Gryffindor at that) was not paying attention in class... Well.]

Mr. Kuroba... The next time I catch you attempting to do something other than what we are currently doing in class, Gryffindor will find itself losing much more than the five points you just lost it.

[What?! He lost points for that?! Why wasn't something fun? Something like making the confetti spew out of the cauldron. Or dying someone's hair a bright flamboyant color. How lame.]

I have perfect recall. [He shrugs]

Are you questioning how I choose to run my class? Or perhaps you are implying that your abilities set you above the rest and mean that you are allowed to not. Pay. Full. Attention.

[Hungary was certainly not looking forward to this class. Not after her previous run-in with Professor Snape earlier in the week. She selected a seat in the middle of the classroom, got out her things, and waited. Her face remained a mask throughout the professor's introductory speech. She did not like him, and she hated that she, a proud and established nation, would have to listen to him. Yet, she'd do her best. She'd had her share of bosses that she didn't like, and this wouldn't be much different, she told herself.]

Miss Hungary.

[He calls on one of the students randomly. Or perhaps not so randomly, considering his memory and their previous interaction.]

Name one ingredient necessary in the brewing of the Draught of Peace.

{OOC: Anything in particular you wanted to play out/have happen?}

...Draught of Peace? Was that even in our books?

[She'd done the assigned reading, but had no memory whatsoever of this potion. Perhaps she'd forgotten or skipped the section, but that name didn't ring a bell at all.]]

{OOC: Nothing too specific, mostly just Hungary getting humiliated and being furious that she can't fight back o/}

[Have a very unimpressed look.]

Tell me, Miss Hungary... Did you bother to open the textbook and do the reading? Or do you simply have a leaky cauldron of a memory?

{OOC: Will do!}

[Terezi is present for class despite the odd time, mostly because she simply has yet to sleep in the castle. When she finally gives in she's going to have a hell of a time adjusting to not be nocturnal, but for now she just has dark circles under her eyes that are effectively hidden by her red shades.

Of course, even though she's present she's not following the dress code very well. Aside from the shades she's got her Slytherin robes on, but open over her usual clothing choice of black slacks and black t-shirt, the teal libra symbol on her shirt easily visible.

She doesn't have anything to take notes on, either, though she does have her textbook out in front of her. When Snape is done giving the assignment, she raises her hand. She's learned that that much is expected in human classrooms before you speak.]

[Unlike with the other houses, Snape makes no comment on her wardrobe while taking attendance, but that doesn't mean that he wouldn't be discussing it with her later. It's simply that she's a Slytherin.]

Yes, Miss Pyrope?

Can I take a closer sniff at the board?

[she was sitting at the front of the class already, but the board and the writing on it was still a little far for her to be able to make out the words by scent.]

[Already Roxas is confused. He doesn't understand how a potion can do any of those things-- the only ones he knows are healing potions.

Naturally, when the professor is finished talking, he raises his hand as well, frowning]

Yes, Mr... [A glance down at the roster.] Roxas?

[The blonde nods quickly, sitting up a little straighter. The man reminds him of Vexen, if the scientist were less of a spaz and more... creepy. Overbearing.

Roxas can't help frowning] Are there any potions that can heal?

Anything in particular in mind for him and this class/log? snarkypotions October 23 2011, 01:04:42 UTC
Of course, or did you not feel the need to crack open your textbook before coming to class?
