It's good that Noa has toned down the wandering in recent times, but he should probably learn to knock more. As it is, opening this door leads him to the room Tieria is in, just in time to hear his words. "Mmn?"
He blinks, walking inside. "What's not working..?"
He looked up immediately at the voice. He was sure he closed the door but it seem like it even closed door was no deterrent to random curious students. But whatever annoyance he felt dismissed quickly once he saw the younger Ravenclaw. He didn't have the heart to be angry with a helpless child.
"Learn to knock next time." Turning back to the book, he pointed a finger towards the Haro on the table. "That... I'm trying to charm it into operating."
He took a while to answer, putting his priority into reading the instruction thoroughly, again. "Yes and no. It's far more complicated than the commuters, with more functions and an advanced operation system. Finally tearing his eyes from the book, he tried the spell again. The Haro's eyes flickered a few times and then stilled to a pause. He frowned ".... Hmm... Haro?" No response. He frowned again.
Russia had seen Tiera buzzing about the library but that was nothing new. So he had simply overlooked his classmate's actions, preferring to work on his own things and forgotten about it quite easily. That said, when Russia happens across him working on something in an abandoned classroom he can't help but peek in, curious.
Solitary hated him today. He was hoping he could work quietly but he was visited by another curious student. He paused to regard Russia, recognizing him as one of his classmates and the one who claimed a tree. He thought he was a weird one. What would claiming a tree do anyway?
"Just a spell not working right. I'll figure it out somehow."
Claiming a tree is totally a worthwhile thing to do! You never know when having a tree will help! Nonetheless, Russia hangs out in the doorway, not wanting to intrude more than he has already.
It serve absolutely no purpose... Tieria made no offer to invite the bigger man into the classroom, but he wouldn't stop him if he wanted to. It was a public classroom after all.
"Trying to make this work." He pointed toward the purple Haro sitting idling on the desk.
Well aware that he couldn't very well check out all the potentially useful books at any given time, Minato had - upon first beginning his investigation into trying to make electronics functional again - made a list of all the books he could find that had any possibility of touching on the subject. The list had both grown and shrunk as he went through it a few at a time, for many books proved useless, while others pointed down new paths to try, and by now he was starting to get at least a general picture of how one went about charming electronics to work. However, as he went to find and check out the next most promising set of books, he found one to be missing. Was it just coincidence, or was someone else working on electronics
( ... )
Tieria has been working on the Haro for close to three weeks -he spent the first few days taking apart and putting his Haro back to one piece- and had encountered the name Minato Arisato several times in the books he borrowed. He hadn't interacted with the name's owner, but he was fairly sure someone else was also working on electronics. It was partly why he tried to return the books he checked out early so that the other person had a chance in using them.
He was busy repeating the charm on the Haro, aiming it at different part of the device. He had successfully gotten the Haro to respond earlier so he was hoping he could at least fix the voice function and have the Haro actually respond properly instead of blinking LED lights. When Minato knocked, he paused to turn his attention to the boy standing by the door.
It took Minato a few seconds to respond, as he was distracted by watching the Haro's blinking lights again and had to pull his attention back to the other boy, but when he did, he put his hands in his pockets.
"Ah, I am sorry for disturbing you. Are you Tieria Erde?" He paused to give the other time to confirm before nodding. "My name is Minato Arisato, and I was told you might have a book I was interested in. It... seems we are pursuing similar lines of research."
Though looking at the -- well, Minato wasn't quite sure what the Haro was, but in any case, it certainly seemed to be more complicated than his own music player, which hung around his neck, dangling a bit lower than his headphones. (It did not entirely matter that none of them worked - it felt better to have their familiar weight, if nothing else.)
He wasn't impressed with the hands in pockets gesture, and it was obvious from the way his eyes lingered on them with a certain glow of annoyance even if he said nothing about it.
"Yes, I am." The name immediately came into his mind as the other person who was studying the same set of books as himself so he wasn't surprised when Minato mentioned he had the book he wanted. It was bound to happen sooner or later. "This? You'll have to wait a few days if you want it, I've only checked it out today."
He noticed the music player and headphones around Minato's neck. "Working on those?"
