I made stew and so can you! Or something. I've been meaning to do this for the past several weekends, and today I did. And I took pictures. So! Have some pictures.

Chicken nooodle stew from start to finish. )

I'm actually delighted you posted this, because I SO completely miss this meal. And so therefore, I am totally gonna make this as soon as I have money again. Yes. Money....*dubious face*

Heh. For how much food it makes, it actually doesn't cost that much.

If you don't mind using less meat and padding it out with other things, like rice or more noodles or (especially) more vegetables, pay some attention to the Tigers and Strawberries post and start saving the bones from all your other chicken meals. You can make a good, rich stock without spending as much on chicken.

Oh my gosh that looks so good. Mind if I link this on healthy_steps?

What's a calendula flower?

Link away!

Calendula is... basically what you call marigolds when they're used for food. Their petals are edible, and crammed with antioxidants.

Your chicken-stew-tutelage has earned me more acclaim than just about anything else I cook. Except for Meg's Weird Indian Chili. That victory I can claim for myself.

YOU EXIST AND ARE ALIVE!

*glomps on* We have to do something sometime. Hang out or bake something or... I don't know. I have not seen you in AGES, which is very sad for people who live in the same city.

(Also, I seem to remember that you were the one who introduced me to the miracle of homemade chicken soup in the first place...)

Indeed, am still alive. Mostly. For now. >.<

We do have to hang out sometime. Sometime after December, when I may (theoretically) have time. I sometimes think I do not still live in Iowa City, but rather in the Sisyphean world of Scholarship. But it's my last year, yay!

I am eager to make Indian Food and have someone to try it out on, as my current roommate cannot eat spicy food (the horror!). We should definitely connive to plan a cooking night.
