FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2009 - - ALL OUT MEDIA BLITZ!
We will officially open this community for membership, as well as advertise this fest all over the place!
DRACO BIG BANG TIMELINE
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2009 - - DRACO BIG BANG PRELIMINARY SIGN-UPS OPEN!
This is the official start date of the challenge. There will be sign-up posts for Authors, Artists (Phase I and Phase II), Betas, and Cheerleaders.
This sign-up isn't an actual commitment. This is for us to get an idea of how many people want to participate. You can begin writing your fic immediately after signing up. You will have approximately four months to write a rough draft of your fic. If you don’t think you can write the 20K words, keep in mind that you’ll have the opportunity to write smaller ficlets to accompany any art submitted during the Phase I art portion of the challenge.
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2009 - - AUTHOR & CHEERLEADER PRELIMINARY SIGN-UPS CLOSE
If you didn't sign up during the preliminary round, you can definitely still participate. Just write your fic to the specifications listed in the Rules and sign up when Official Sign-ups Open (March 6, 2010).
The benefit to signing up during the Preliminary Period is an invitation to our companion communities, dracobangers and dracoartists. On Draco Bangers, authors will be able to talk to each other, share plot bunnies, get help from fellow participants, and so much more. On Draco Artists, artists will have the same opportunities to brainstorm, share ideas, ask for suggestions and advice. Once the Preliminary Sign-Up period closes, we will send out invitations to every author and artist who signed up.
SATURDAY, MARCH 6, 2010 - - OFFICIAL SIGN-UPS OPEN!
At this time, a complete rough draft of your story is due. We will also provide you with a header that must accompany your story which will include a summary. This is NOT the final due date; you have until May 22 to finish the story and get it beta’d. By now, you should have a good idea of whether or not you’ll be able to meet the challenge deadline (i.e., have met the minimum word count of 20,000 words).
If you do not formally sign up by the end of March 13 (including the complete draft of your fic), your story will not qualify for accompanying art and may not be included in the archive.

Preliminary (Phase II) artist Sign-ups close
For Traditional Artists:
For Phase II art, we’d like for you to tell us officially which pairings and ratings you’re willing to illustrate, as well as how many pieces of fanart you’re willing to provide.
For Other Artists:
At this time, we’d like to know how many pieces of art (be they graphics, fanmixes, videos, etc.) you’re willing to provide and any pairings you refuse to work with.
For ALL Artists:
If you do not formally sign-up by the end of March 13th, you may still be able to participate as a pinch-hitter.
Once we’ve gone through the fic drafts, we’ll be sending you a selection of anonymous synopses for you to choose from. You will give us a list of the stories you'd most like to illustrate, based on the synopses. We will then provide you with the contact info for your author(s) in order to get the full story and to work with the author in selecting which scene(s) you're going to work with.
SATURDAY, MARCH 20, 2010 - - ARTIST ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE SENT OUT
For traditional artists, you will receive confirmation of the scene(s) you wish to illustrate. If you finish before the deadline and would like to do more, we’d be thrilled! Just contact the mods.
Other artists will receive your assignment(s) at this time as well.
The Phase I art will be opened, and anyone wishing to write a 1000-word fic to accompany a piece of art may sign up and claim up to 3 pieces of fanart. These stories will be due May 22, 2010.
SATURDAY, MAY 22, 2010 - - FINAL PHASE II FANFIC AND FANART DUE BY MIDNIGHT, EDT
A header will be provided for both fic and art. All submissions are due by email and must be coded.
