Dear Books,

So its my March Post of books I am in the process of reading or books I have read. I'm hiding these behind cuts because A, they are very picture heavy and B, I sort of babble while posting each book. Perhaps its silly, but I feel sort of like I've achieved something when I've been able to dump out a list of books I've been reading.

I am posting from the lobby at the Doubletree. (I'm assuming that it's safe to write that, because even with my general online paranoia, I can't imagine someone stalking me via a response to your LJ.) I'm eating baklava and hoping not to get honey on my keyboard. I'm wearing my pajamas and bedroom slippers, but oddly enough, it's sort of like going to WalMart in the middle of the night -- no one has given me a strange look yet ( ... )

So you've never read "A Wizard of Earthsea"? I'm not sure whether to recommend it or not. I read it once, didn't really like it, but read the second book, "The Tombs of Atuan" and LOVED it, so I went back and read the first one again... and still didn't like it. Correction: it's not the book I dislike, but Sparrowhawk himself. In the other books, he's amazing. I adore him. In the first one, he's a whiny jerk. I would almost recommend you skip straight to the other books, except I doubt they'd make sense. And who knows, maybe you'll like him more than I do. There's no accounting for taste. :)

let me think... I strongly recommend checking out Eye Of The World by Robert Jordan or Homeland by R.A. Salvatore - both are excellent, slightly more action-oriented examples of medieval fantasy, which I think your deep intellect would enjoy...
oh and check out Idlewild and the sequel, Everfree, by Nick Sagan... son of Carl Sagan lol...
I am currently reading the Foundation series by Asimov... so...
yeah:-)
