This makes me feel so insanely guilty. I need to write this year! I wasn't planning on making a New Years resolution, but I think I've found mine: Write More.
Since you obviously have a decent work-ethic about it, do you have any advice for how to keep in the swing of things?
I've actually only recently started trying to make sure I write a little bit every day. A daily target really helps. I started off aiming for just 100 words a day which is relatively easy and also not difficult to catch up on if I skip a day (RL is a pesky thing and gets in the way).
Also, just write 100 words of anything. Doesn't matter if it's not what I actually need to work on, or even if it's just a completely random 100 words that don't really fit anywhere yet, as long as there are words. It's working for me so far.
I also give myself rewards for reaching my targets. Lol. Sounds dorky, but I'll bookmark a fic or something for afterwards and won't let myself read it until I've hit my word target.
Aww, thanks. :) I do have a masterlist of fic at the top of my LJ page but it's not entirely up to date. And the ones with chapters aren't all linked together properly yet. Some major housekeeping needed on my LJ, lol. Hopefully I'll get around to it this weekend.
My former lj (bohemianneko) was in such a state of disorganization and disrepair that I actually got this account expressly so I could start over. It's just that about the time I got this account was when real life started making demands on me that it hadn't previously.
And in response to your previous comment with the writing advice, I was actually thinking something along the same lines. I believe that NaNoWriMo makes their wordcount widgets available all year round so I might be able to make use of that. Hmm... possibilities!
