Review of my Goals for 2009: I didn't really have anything specific.
Did I meet that goal? See above.
My favorite story this year (of my own): It's actually quite hard to pick one. I think probably
Sex In The City since it's where all the SJS madness started.
My best story this year: Best? I think
Purgatory: Abydos is written pretty well and has the potential to be very good if I can keep the tone and feel of it the same.
Story most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Heh, SJS? No, that's not written for universal approval. I think
Five TimesNine Times Jack O'Neill Broke A Bone is under-appreciated.
Most fun story: To write?
Untitled 2010 tag *g* And the reaction it got was hilarious.
Sexiest story:
Summer Wine Part 1 and 2 and 3.
Hardest to write:
So This Is Paradise? because of the deadline mostly and the fact that it had an actual plot. It was fun in the first draft stage, but actually pulling it all together had me tearing my hair out.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2009? LMFAO!! I wrote a shitload of pairings, genres and fandoms this year that I never thought I would. I left all of my comment fic out of this list, but I wrote Friends comment fic, genderfuckery!fic, slash, RPS, RPF, OT3... the pairings gt a little weird for a while there too. I do believe I wrote Jack/Thor this year... heh. If you want/dare to read my comment fic, hit the "comment fic" tag on my LJ sidebar.
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted? Definitely more.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them? Absolutely! I learned that it's not about what other people think of your fic. Yes, comments and positive feedback are great, but so is trying your hand at something completely new, just to see if you can do it. Not all of my fic has been appreciated by my main flist this year, but that's absolutely OK. Variety is the spice of life and all that. :) I think it's helping me grow as a writer. The prompts and ideas that I would've run away from a year ago, I now tend to jump on them and at least give it a shot. If it turns out to be crap, well so what? I tried. :)
Do you have any goals for the New Year? I have a few WIPs that I desperately want to get out of the way in the next two or three months. I have a larger project kind of planned in my head, whether that will work out or not, I don't know. It won't see my flist until (if!) it's complete. I'm definitely doing the Day of Indulgence thing again this year, so I need to get started on that in the next week or two.
I've also started giving myself word count targets. It's helping me become a more disciplined writer. I'm going to try and keep up with that.
