I've been out all day for EPA radiochem training so I'm a bit out of the news loop. I flip on CNN and I see all these images of massive flooding in Northern Georgia. Its been raining for nearly three straight weeks - but the latest batch of storms have really put a hurting down. Lakewood sounding off- a stone's throw from the Lakewood Amphitheater. We have power and water, but the low lying areas near us are flooded, and I believe the retention pond that sits in the parking lot of the Amphitheater may have not only flooded the parking lot but may have also flooded the road.

Been staying in the house today. Be a lousy day for the zombie apocalypse to start...

Just fine here, though it was touch and go for a bit. I took the northmost route home because that kept me above the chattahoochee. We ran into the detour that closed 92, but Canton Highway took me safely back to 75.

Our house is not in danger of water, but roads keep closing surrounding us. Sweetwater Creek is over flowing, and we're down to one open road to get in and out.

I am SO glad to hear that you're safe! I keep hearing all these horrible things about roads being washed out and two guys being killed in Douglas county, etc. and it made wonder how you and pixelmonster were doing.

Apparently a woman was killed when she drove her van into 6 feet of standing water about a mile from my apartment. I'm thankful I'm on a hill and probably don't have any issues but I'm having Brent and Kelly check on my place as soon as they can to make sure.
