Heavy rain - up to 4 - 6 inches (or more) are forecast *again* for Northern Georgia. There are already flash flood warnings in the NW (with to 6 inches of rain already) - and this is only the beginning. I've been out all day for EPA radiochem training so I'm a bit out of the news loop. I flip on CNN and I see all these images of massive flooding in Northern Georgia. Its been raining for nearly three straight weeks - but the latest batch of storms have really put a hurting down. My experience with hurricanes is rather limited. Last year the state was raked by three storms (Ivan, Frances and Jeanne), but all were only tropical storms when the passed through North Georgia. Of these, Ivan was by far the worst - not for the wind or rain - but the large number of tornados that it spawned. But the only hurricane that 'felt' ( Read more... )
