He glanced over the email and rolled his eyes. McGregor needed to feel in charge ever now by rearranging something completely pointless and unworthwhile. Still it wasn't worth the hassle of not turning up.

He knocked on her door just after lunch.

She looked up at the sound. "Come in." The door whooshed open, revealing Dr. Kavanagh, just as requested. Rae left off writing on her whiteboard and gestured to the chair in front of her desk as she took the seat behind. "Please, have a seat." He doesn't mean to stare at her. He prided himself on remaining aloof and detached - or at least appearing that way, but it wasn't exactly avoidable. Even her clothing was pretty obvious, it wouldn't be long before she'd have to stop working, a complete waste of resources. He thought to himself just as she started explaining.

It takes him a while to process what she's just said. He thought he'd be the last person she want in charge. He stares at her a moment longer, just to be sure he's heard right and this isn't some kind of juvenile prank. "Well you're right I am the most qualified in the department. In fact some would think I was the most qualified in this room." He replies when he's certain she's serious. His tone is completely neutral despite his acidic words . "Yeah, sure. I'll take it off your hands."
