Days with a extremely slow greek opthalmic surgeon are the longest days in the world. Have snuck into the office to escape and write essays. Am currently attempting a distance learning course in medical education which requires a great deal of scribbling and baffled incomprehension on my part. For a change i have mostly been working and sleeping. Yet again on nightshifts, so far its quiet, too quiet. Actualy intensive care isnt very intense, i would much rather be doing anaesthetics but i have to lump this for another two months until i can get back to gassing. Nights shifts again. Twas the hour of nearly three in the bloody morning and all were silent as a mouse. Apart from the alarms from the nasogastric feed pumps. its quarter past two in the morning, i am on my third out of four nights on the intensive care unit. brain is only functioning on a background infusion of caffeine and sugary drinks combined with jaffa cakes.
