I've been reading  a bit about the purchase of LiveJournal by a Russian company late last year. It seems to be a fairly unsavory organization, in terms of limiting freedom of speech, having ties to security services, etc. I'm no more than an occasional user of this service, but I still wonder whether ethically I can continue to patronize it.
