With a dreamy far off look, and her nose stuck in a book

It had been a long time since I'd read a truly gripping novel, particularly one that would keep me up reading late into the night. Last night I did just that. I finished the book at 6:57am, put it down, and closed my eyes to get whatever precious little sleep I could. After too many nights of too little sleep, it was a foolish decision. Well, in the first novel, the good guys are quite obviously good -- particularly when compared to the bad guys. And, from what I've gathered, it's like that for the first 5 novels or so. It's in the 6th novel that the author starts plainly spouting forth objectivist philosophy, virtually mimicking many essential plot points of Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead in order to drive the lessons home. And, like I said, objectivism isn't wrong in as far as it goes. It's just incomplete. So, who knows, maybe I'll read the 6th novel and actually like it. But, if I don't, then I'll put the series down.

Speaking of which, thanks for recommending The Wheel of Time series. I'll look that up in my library this week. I don't mind the commitment. I'm an avid reader. And I'm also in the mood for good fantasy now.
