The Ark

The long-awaited Orthodox internet radio station, The Ark, is officially up and going.  I like it.  It's different than Ancient Faith Radio (the OTHER Orthodox internet radio station) in that it has a broader focus.  The Ark plays more than just liturgical music.  In fact, MOST of what I've been hearing is music by contemporary Orthodox musicians

Sweet! Though I admit I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the CCM-like music, lol.

Ha! Now I know why some of it sounds like CCM. It's because it is! They're playing Rebecca St. James right now, and I KNOW she's not Orthodox. I wonder what their criteria is for choosing what CCM music to play and what to avoid.

That's a good question. Some of the CCM I listen to is really wonderful and quite profound. Other stuff makes me reach for the power button because it's on such shaky theological ground.
