The next step of making the shoebox diorama was selecting, editing and printing the comics images I wanted to use. Luckily, the Thursday before the summer solstice was my first day back at my workplace, and this meant I could abuse the colour printer at work to print the images. The dresser might be my favorite part. Even in a closeup, the flat images flow together with the 3D elements so well, the combination is really interesting. Also, yay for a movable cat. :)

I was really happy with how the dresser came out too. The image just lent itself very well for the combined 2D/3D treatment. I only wished I had made the stick-out drawer a bit more sturdy so it wouldn't have gotten bent.
