I still have no idea what Jeff said the first time he was playing the dean because about 2 seconds after he first spoke I started laughing hysterically.
I took the meme and started filling it out on my LJ but I have to go back to my actual school work so I'll probably post it (as public) sometime later this weekend.
Yeah, it was actually pretty wonderful to see Joel McHale get challenged as a comedic actor, and knock it out of the park. I love Jeff, but he's basically The Soup-Joel (and possibly RL-Joel, IDK) and he's pretty much always the same cool, laid-back guy. I feel like this showed he can do lots more, if given the chance. And I'd now like to see him impersonate every single one of the characters on this show...
I rewatched the episode today and I actually heard the dialogue this time which made it even better. I also vaguely remember Dan Harmon saying in one of the commentaries that at some point Jeff Winger pretty much became Joel McHale.
This show in general really can do so much more, I hate that people are just overlooking it and, like you, I'm also not so crazy about Modern Family (four nominations in one category?! Seriously?!)
Yeah I should rewatch it too, I missed a lot of the dialogue!
Ugh yeah, what's the point of even having awards for TV shows if all the nominations are from one show?! I don't even want that for the shows I love, I'd be entirely annoyed if they had done that with Community or P&R. There are so many great shows, there's really no need to focus on just one.
Coolcool, off to read it! I can almost guarantee I won't hate you for it! :)
it sad to say that that is my reaction to finishing all the HP-books. It's not that they were bad, on the contrary, it's just that I've barely seen anything for the last couple of days except the pages of a book and my neck was beginning to threaten to kill me. I finished the last one late last night, super-late, but there was just no putting it down once I got half-way.
Okay, you mentioned the movies, but I'm a big nerd so I have to ask - did you think of the books? :P
And don't say Modern Family or I will kick you in the balls.
I liked Modern Family the first season, but now it just annoys me. It tries to be diverse, but it doesn't work when two families are different and the third family is the exact same family as every family in shows or movies about families or with families in them.
I don't think even s1-Leslie was this immature and inconsiderate of other people's feelings! If the payoff of all of this was that Leslie (and Ben) would decide that it was worth risking Leslie's career over this relationship: awesome, I'm

Okay, you mentioned the movies, but I'm a big nerd so I have to ask - did you think of the books? :P Nerd away! I love talking about anything I've watched or read! :D I pretty much loved the books, for the most parts, and I think the only reason I didn't go into them was that I'm pretty sure my opinions = everyone's opinions. My only real complaint is that the last book was a bit too long without really having the action for it, there was a bit much running and camping in the middle for my liking, but other than that each book was better than the last and I loved all of the characters, except the ones you were supposed to hate.

Seeing as how I haven't actually watched that much of it, no. Although I do think I mentioned it when I exploded about Community being snubbed the first year around,
Ah, sorry. The way you said "don't mention Modern Family" made me think you had specific reasons.
I'm pretty sure my opinions = everyone's opinions.
Hee, you'd be surprised. A lot of people hated the last book - I'd say some of them had good points, others were just upset about shipping.
maybe because it was such a given or because women have to be pretty damned pathetic before I react (like oh say, the women of The Walking Dead).
Yeah... I'm not really one of those people who finds sexism in everything, and in all honesty, it annoys me when people are all, "oh my god, that character wanted to get married, this show/movie is sexist." But I also appreciate characters who want more, you know?
Part of what makes her a good character is her independence, and I don't think her relationship with Ben actually needs to threaten that but somehow that's kind of what's

Yeah it had some flaws, for me mainly it was the running around and camping in the forest, it was too dragged out. Shipping-wise I was happy, I was all for Harry/Ginny and Hermione/Ron in the books. Remains to be seen how I feel about the movie-ships though, I might go a different way there.

Yeah, I really hope I'm wrong. I also hope they don't make it out like it's her relationship with Ben versus everything else - I love Ben and Leslie too much for them to be that kind of TV couple. Me too, they're one of my favorite ships, I'd really be bummed if they went to hell. Especially if it's in a stupid way. :/
Veronica Mars, "Ain't No Magic Mountain High Enough"
For some reason, my brain remembers this episode had a lot of Veronica/Weevil action in it. Y/N/U CRAZY? But I haven't watched VMars since the show aired, so. Probably that is wrong. (BUT VERONICA/WEEVIL WERE GREAT, I 'SHIPPED IT. WEEVIL LOVE YOU LONG TIME, etc-etc.)
Sunset Beach, I taped all the episodes. I think that was first, anyway, memory ain't what it used to be (and it didn't used to be very good either).
Ha ha ha, I used to watch that too! Though I couldn't even tell you now a single character's name or actor who was in it.

Not why I loved it, because I just friend-shipped Weevil/Veronica (LoVe 4EVAR!), but I did enjoy their interactions in that episode. Even if it was during that awkward time when Francis Capra decided to have a five o'clock shade on his head. :p

Somehow I feel about a million times less ashamed about having watched that now! (Still very ashamed though. The theme song did have saxophones. I mean, SAXOPHONES, for the love of all things holy! >_I remember loads of names of both characters and actors, but that's just cause my brain is weird and remembers crap like that instead of important things like math and science and stuff
