And then all the TV came back, all on the same day! I only got through half, gotten lazy in the head over the summer and can't seem to process anymore plot of any kind right now. Will have to retrain myself in watching a lot of things at once!

Spoilers for: Eureka, 2 Broke Girls, Castle, How I Met Your Mother )

tv: eureka, tv: 2 broke girls, tv: pilots and new shows, tv: how i met your mother, tv: castle

The only one of these I've watched so far is Eureka and ... yes. Exactly what you said. I'm going to try to post something about it at some point, but at the moment I have an incipient migraine and severe case of meh.

I enjoyed 2 Broke Girls, as well. I'd gone into it with little expectation, so it definitely exceed what I thought. I hope they keep around the mother that Kat Dennings' character babysits for. I found her amusing.

I actually thought she was a bit over-the-top, even for a sitcom - just feels like that particular cliché has been done to death. But on the other hand her concern for her babies was pretty amusing, and she was better than the Racial Stereotype Diner...
Atleast I really liked the main characters, which I suppose is the main point. :)

I liked 2 Broke Girls too. It's been one of the better new sitcoms so far, I think.

I was too distracted by Stana to pay much attention to Nathan's boobs, but I'm afraid now that's all I'm going to notice. I think it was a reset, without being a full reset, like Bones tried to do last year with Booth/Brennan. I think that there are obstacles in their way obviously, but I feel like they are at least both working toward a relationship and I think they know it could be with the other. Idk, I think it's a step in the right direction for them.

Aye, by far my favorite comedy so far!

You're welcome. :D And yeah, Stana just keeps getting prettier, so glad she ditched that horrible s1-haircut.

It was certainly pulled off better than on Bones, mostly because this show hasn't been going on as long and hasn't tried to do as many resets. But they're using them up fast so they better make them count, they can't take two steps forward and two steps back forever.

I couldn't even finish 2 Broke Girls, I just couldn't stand that show. I'm sad, I really wanted to like it. :(

Castle was "meh". Just make out already!

I loved HIMYM.

I also watched 2 & 1/2 Men, just to see if Ashton Kutcher could make that show funny.
And... he actually could? O.O
Because I spent 10 minutes yawning and being bored, and then all of a sudden he showed up and I started laughing! HE MUST HAVE MAGICAL POWERS.
IT'S THE ONLY EXPLANATION. :O

ETA: My other, non-magical theory is that ten minutes in I developed some weird type of Stockholm Syndrome.

Aww, why not? And OMG, you actually didn't like a show?? I ... don't think this has ever happened before! *Runs out to see if pigs are flying or the four horsemen are riding out*

Haha, yeah that basically sums up my thoughts for Castle. And most shows in general.

O_O I refuse to watch that show on general principle, I'm sure it could hypnotize me into making me laugh because I'm programmed by years of TV-watching to laugh automatically at the sound of laugh-tracks, but it would be a cheap, empty laugh and then I'd hate myself. So yeah, maybe that's what happened to you too, although the Stockholms Syndrome theory is also a viable one.
Made me so depressed to see the ratings for that show was through the roof. Sad, sad day for comedy. :(

It's happened before, you just think it doesn't because I like some shows you don't like.

But the first ten minutes had cheesy laugh-tracks, too. At Charlie Sheen's characters funeral... and let me tell you, these writers are even WORSE at funeral jokes than you'd think. Not the least bit funny to be had there. :(

Ashton Kutcher is adorable and were on That 70's Show, which was both hilarious and awesome (and should be uncanceled asap, I don't even care that they aired too many seasons and the show entered the 80's. Rename it to That 80's Show and keep on going!!! /wants more comedies on TV).
And anyway, Ashton Kutcher spent most of his scenes running around naked. I'm pretty sure that helped out the ratings quite a bit lol.
Also I'm laughing at Charlie Sheen. He is probably pissed the show is doing so well WITHOUT HIM. XD

Oh yeah? Name 5 shows you don't like. Must be scripted and not cancelled-in-five-minutes shows that people our age watch.

Really? Just the thought of Charlie Sheen's funeral having a laughtrack is making me giggle.
Although I am having trouble laughing at Charlie Sheen at all since he went on the redemption tour, he was sooo much more fun to mock when he was spiraling out of control. :/

I'm avoiding everything but the HIMYM comments cause I only just finished S1 of Castle and I don't want to be utterly spoiled (hopeless plan, I know). But everything you said about HIMYM. YES, THAT IS HOW I FEEL. There are still very funny moments, but it feels as though everything is now filler for the eventual ending. I saw somewhere that the showrunner mentioned that they had at least 2 more years worth of material and I was rather annoyed. Which I wouldn't have been in S1-4.

I feel a bit like it's turning into my show that I'm only watching cause I have to know the ending having spent 6 bloody years on it. Rather than my show I love for being legen.....dary. Y'know?

There wasn't really any Castle spoilers beyond the shape of Nathan Fillion's body, but in general that's probably a good plan. :)

*Nodding in agreement* on HIMYM, that's the only reason I'm watching now too. And there clearly is NOT 2 years of material left for this show. Atleast not GOOD material...

beyond the shape of Nathan Fillion's body THAT? Is how you encourage me to stay away? Clearly we do not yet know each other well enough!
