I've seen all ten episodes. It's heartbreaking and traumatic and beautifully filmed and the actors are all so good, including the people in the background, and I'm not sure yet what to do with it.

So, if you want, babble at me about it in the comments, and give me recs, anything you think I should see, including fic, self recs are fine.

I've sadly never seen it, but buffyaddict loves it. She's written fic for it and she's incredible.

I'll have to check out her BoB fic -- I know her work from SPN fandom. She writes great stuff.

Ahhhh, this reminds me how very much I need to see it. :-( One day! I will be at my parents where there is HBO On Demand and I will devour it.

It's one of the most amazing things I've ever seen on my TV ever. It's so beautiful and so brutal at the same time -- there's a lot of gore and yet it's not relentless or gratuitous about it, while it doesn't lessen the horror of it either.

That's high praise if a WWII vet liked it.

I've never seen it, but a couple of my friends are very much into it. Here are the recs from one of them. I can't vouch for any of the fics, but I figure it's at least a starting point. :D

Band of Brothers is awesome. I never got into the fandom part of it, but I know at least two ladies in my flist - who are awesome writers - that are really, really into it: mardia and newredshoes. Also, and have you read newredshoes's crossover big_bang with SPN? It's more about Dean, sure, but the cast of characters from BoB is prominent and the story is WONDERFUL!

*smooch* I still CRY everytime I think about that story.

I wish I were interested in the fandom of BoB just so I could read yours and mardia's stuff. *kicks her monofannish boringness*.
Mardia also writes/wrote awesome Without a Trace Danny/Martin that's why I have no doubts that everything she writes is that good.

Isn't it gorgeous? It's so brutal and heartbreaking and yet it doesn't feel harsh. They walk a fine line, and I love how understated it is, there are some massively powerful moments and they sort of...happen before you realize it.

I'll be making a beeline over to newredshoes's LJ (I think her head may have been about to explode waiting for me to finish watching *G) and will check out mardia too. Yay!

The thought of Dean in Easy Company, now that I've seen it, is kind of stunning.
