I've finally come to the conclusion that there is nothing - no book, no tv, no music, no writing - that I want to do right now so much as watch a Sharpe episode I haven't seen before. Happily I still have about 5 left so here goes

. I’ve just noticed that when Sharpe inspects his Chosen Men for the first time, he is shown ?downhill? from them and significantly shorter. This goes against the way he is portrayed in most of the movies, because I’d always assumed he was 6ft tall like in the books, and was gobsmacked to discover Sean Bean is only 5ft 9

Really, that’s the best they could do for young Francesco? (Not sure how I didn’t notice before what a terrible match this boy is for Matteo Martari. Maybe I had no idea who he was supposed to be. I didn’t know in this scene either until young Lorenzo called him Francesco
