So, playing a trifle fast and loose with the days again, but better late than never. My main pre-occupation this week has been the ending of Ashes to Ashes, and that’s what I’m going with for the prompts. Please note that although the titles aren’t particularly spoilery unless you’ve seen all of Ashes except 3.08, my drabble - if I ever get round

Not long now and Cromwell will be riding by. The man who had arranged for King Charles to be beheaded in the name of the people goes in a carriage to his own coronation. The one who once encouraged the writing of John Lillburne but declared him a threat and sent him to Jersey. The cavalcade should come below the window in just a few minutes. The guns are primed and ready. But wait, the carriage is empty, he has been betrayed, there are soldiers running towards the house. “Farewell Angelica” and Sexby takes his musket and pulls the trigger.
