“Safe as houses!” Nico cried out, pointing the Staff of One at the door Xavin and Chase were desperately trying to keep closed. Glowing boards manifested themselves across the door and all the windows, keeping out the snarling, bleating herd of killer sheep.
“This,” Xavin said, panting, “is why my people consider Mr. Fantastic to be a monster.”
“I thought he only did cows,” Victor said. “And they didn’t go crazy and try to eat people.”
“No,” Xavin agreed, “they didn’t. Instead they were killed and eaten.”
“And sometimes bits of other animals are used in livestock feed,” Karolina added, making a disgusted face. “It’s really gross.”
“It doesn’t matter!” Nico snapped. “We need to focus on stopping the rampaging sheep before they do any more damage to anyone or anything.”
