Thank you very much for your review! I appreciate that you took the time to comment after reading, I know it must have taken a while to get through that story. Is there any part that you liked in particular/anything you'd like to know more about in the story that wasn't specifically explained in detail?

Re: another laborious piece of writing

It's actually looking probable, though not in this exact format. I've been becoming more and more interested in the period of history surrounding the formation of the Kingdom of Prussia and I've got my hands on some books on Frederick II. While I may not go all out and do something exactly like Hither (and I've already begun writing smaller fics in a continuous arc), there will very likely be some much longer stories involving Prussia and Old Fritz. But they'll only be written when I find the right angle, of course.

I wanted to read it, but I can't download it from that page, which is a real shame... Since I only seldom access LJ from my computer, and the embedded pdf is nigh impossible to read on my phone, I guess this means that I'm out of luck... It certainly looks like you've put a lot of effort into it, though!

Really? There are two download links on the scribd page. D:

I've uploaded it to mediafire as an alternative. Try it out and tell me how it is: http://www.mediafire.com/?7kwd0jjaw0fn92s

Oh, thank you! Yes, I should be able to save that to my computer and read it later, possibly when I don't have an internet connection. The thing is, if I go on LJ while I'm at my computer, I just... I can't look away. So I usually just switch off the internet on my laptop after I download whatever I want to look at--which I find on my phone and email to myself. Kind of a weird system, I know. It's the only way I can prevent myself from going, "Oooooh, archives..." for like eight hours. Or more. ...Yeah, I only made that mistake like six times. And then I came up with this system, which sorta works. Except for cool fics like yours.

But now I have it on my computer, and I'll be reading it whenever I get a chance until I get through it or (less likely) get bored! So thank you for the mediafire link~!

Oh actually, now that I re-read the comment, if you plan on doing the reading on your phone, it might be a bit of trouble. I specifically pdf-ed the fic because of the length + formatting and to go through the entire thing with HTML again will be a bit of a pain, especially since I'll have to break it up to cover several LJ entries. One LJ entry can handle about under 10,000 words and this covers nearly 50,000 words.

Alternatively, it can be saved as a txt file... except all the formatting will be lost. I'm quite unhappy to hear that your phone isn't able to handle the pdf. :(

I wouldn't mind trying to make the story more LJ friendly, but I'm afraid it won't be a very high priority since this story gets so little traffic anyway. If you don't mind waiting, perhaps the coming weekend I might get out the LJ version of the story, at least chapter by chapter.

holy crap this.

this got me into Austria and the pairing. <3 your characterisations are amazing and your Austria is so mentally strong, which is refreshing. really is.

also hope you don't mind using your compilation of resources for an RP? I'm astounded at the effort and time you obviously took to complete this. i don't even spend this much effort on my history papers, herp derp.

herp derp derp :V

Hello! It's quite a surprise to see people comment on this considering how hidden my LJ is. It makes me happy to know people enjoyed reading this story (though I am now going to needle you into reviewing at length. CONSIDER YOURSELF NEEDLED.)

I am quite fine with my notes being used! It's all stuff you can find online (or, well, stuff I've put online ho ho ho I cannot be stopped by Google Books or academic libraries) so feel free to refer to them. I end up researching history instead of doing print design assignments so I'm less surprised that I've done so much. What surprises me is that I am crazy and that I do this for countries I know nothing about.

Though, as with the disclaimer I slapped onto the notes, it's not complete so there may be things that you may have to find on your own. I'm just happy to be credited and/or pimped nudge wink

  1. I DID. Well technically at the beginning of the year but people barely noticed me. BUT ANYWAY.

  2. OMG. THAT IS AN HONOUR I CANNOT EVEN BEGIN TO OVERSTATE. I AM SO FLATTERED!!!!! (Aw shit can you install fonts into the iPad though? Because if it renders the titles for the Acts stupidly I may have to upend a table) BUT YES AND YAY, MOBILE PORN FOR YOU!

  3. omg what ex-anon who I WHAT D: I am happy that you have been filling for the kink meme! But I was certainly not aware that I helped push you along! In fact, I lean more towards the idea that I dissuade people from writing because I'm a train wreck

AAHH I MISSED THAT!!! It's sad but the first thing I'm doing is frantically downloading and uploading as many of the good fics I like. So glad the memory's decent.

Train wreck? Pshaw.

Seriously though, why would you have been scared to post on the kink meme? IT IS THE ANONYMITY THAT SHOULD MAKE YOU FIERCE (but ultimately not douchey as a lot of anons are wont to be).

OH and do not forget to tell me your thoughts on the actual fic! I am here to clear up doubts and over explain things nobody understood. :)

I'm just going to say. I LOVE YOU FOREVER FOR WRITING SPAIN AND AUSTRIA. It's not my OTP either, but seriously. I HAVE CRAVINGS. Totally posting this before I actually read the fic... but I will reply with my actual thoughts on it after I do.
