My Top 10 kdramas, a bit of a pusher post

Jan 22, 2008 13:28

Of all the dramas out there, Korean ones are my favorite kind. Whether it's the amazing production values, tall and masculine hotties (often with swords), adorable heroines, or just the total cracktastic emo, I don't know. But kdramas rock.

But which are my favorite kdramas? And why? Here is a Top 10 list, with reasons, vids, and pics. Note: no ( Read more... )

Nice list :)
I think most of my favorites are on there, like; my girl, what happened in bali, goong. The rest I either wasn't that keen on or havn't seen. Like Capital scandal, I've been thinking about watching that for ages but wasn't sure whether I would like it or not, your plot is really different from other ones I've read-might give it a go.

I loved Capital Scandal, and think it's a very underrated drama. YMMV, but it's worth giving it at least a chance :)

I am actually one of only ten people in this Universe who didn't like Kim Sam Soon at all. It's not just not on a faves list, but is not even on a list of dramas I liked, generally. Yeah, I know I am a freak :)

I basically wrote up why here:

i'm one of those ten people too hehe

the legend definately leapfrogged to the top of my list (although i keep wanting to put it in its own category since it's so different from everything else i've seen. it was my first K-historical though.)

I have a feeling HongGil is going to be top10 also ^__^ which definately (along with your shipping) putting capital scandal on my to-watch list next.

only one i miss from your list is Dal Ja's Spring. that was super crack happy times for me. haha

I havr heard such awesome things of DJS. I am planning to watch it very shortly.

I am nine eps into Legend and it really is amazing. If it continues this way, it will definitely be in that Top 10 list. I have seen kdrama historicals though, some of which I liked more than others, but nothing quite like Legend.

I have a confession to make: I ffed through all of SJS' parts in Bali (hey, it was a looooong drama). But then my total fangirling for Jo In Sung compensated for that, for me :)

Yeah, I don't think Rain sings in ALTK. It is, probably, one of the most depressing things I'v ever seen, all the worse because you genuinely care for the characters.

6. Delightful Girl - I've yet to go beyond an episode, I think I didn't really have the time or the patience at the moment. But if you're comparing it to Ron/Hermione (the greatest ship of all), then I'm all up for it. Although I heard about some bits in the end and it gets weird, ne ( ... )

6. DGCH is pure awesome. It's draggy for a couple of eps in the middle but then it goes into hyperdrive. I didn't think the ending was weird. In fact, eps 14-17 are probably my fave. I did a huge meta on why it's so awesome but it's spoilery. Very spoilery. Still, if you want to take a look: http://dangermousie.livejournal.com/812282.html

7. Yes, he does have parents from hell. His father is one of my least favorite parental figures ever. I remember posting on my lj when I first watched it, my repeated desire to have a go with a bat at him. With nails in it.

9. Ehh, I don't mind :) I mean, things either work for you or do not. After all, I dislike Kim Sam Soon, and it's one of the most liked dramas out there.

10. Bali: I love it, but it IS very melodramaish. These things either work or make you want to kill something. I used ff button liberally on non Jo In Sug parts, but all those bits made up for it.
