i hate that you think that about your friends. i hate when anyone says that because its sad. when i think of my friends not one negative thing comes to mind. i love them, i would do anything for them and i know that they would do anything for me no questions asked. that sucks a lot to have that be an "upsurprising conclusion".

Yes, well...I have the "luxury" of my two closest friends being five hours away at college. I've also been the main initiator at maintaining these long distances friendships. One of them has become an incredibly pretentious typical college kid, while the other just seems to think that his "hectic" lifestyle [which, apparently, no one here understands even though I also go to school full time and have two jobs] is an excuse to be an avoidant asshole.
There just comes a point where you're tired of trying, and generally apathetic to them in general. Had they stayed in this area, I'm sure things would have have been just as they were in high school: amazing. At least they'll have education, right?
The friends I have here, I'm grateful for, and I know that the loyalty extends both ways.

There just comes a point where you're tired of trying, and generally apathetic to them in general. Had they stayed in this area, I'm sure things would have have been just as they were in high school: amazing. At least they'll have education, right?
