Why do they feel it is necessary to interrupt my shows to tell us it is raining?  Like I couldn't open a window and see that for myself?

no-fic, thoughts, rl

They want you to watch their weather report later.

or they just like to hear themselves talk...

And why do they never interrupt commercials? They always manage to return us to our regularly scheduled program just in time for the commerical break

ads are how they make their money. shows are just their way getting you to watch the commercials.

good point. Of course if we've changed the channel because we were annoyed with their constant interruptions than the advertisers aren't going to be getting their money's worth

It's so damn annoying. and it's not like they'll wind up getting the weather report right later or anything!

actually, what's hysterical is that in MN they actually do the main weather reports OUTSIDE. No matter the weather (almost) and sometimes they STILL get it wrong

I can't believe they did that! If they interrupted programs over here to tell you it was raining we'd never see anything, especially in the North West (we get most of the rain in England in the North West; my mum lives near a place called Wet Sleddale).

*cuddles the BBC and its commercial-less programs*

you are So lucky. Here they interrupt shows at the srop of a hat. It's annoying. Necessary occasionally (i.e. theres a tornado on it's way) but other times? No thank you

They loooove to feel oh so important. Here at least a few of the channels have learned to put their info around the sides of the screen, and make the show smaller, so at least we can watch our shows while they blather.
