✰002 - My audience loves me, and I love them, and they love me for loving them

I may have mentioned this already, but I need to sing. Singing is the fire that fuels my soul. If you let that fire out, I'll wither and die left alone in the forest to turn to ash and dust until some unsuspecting deer shows up, looking for food, and eats that ash, and then chokes to death ( Read more... )

[There are so many things wrong with this post. But he's going to attack the song choice first.]

...Since when can you promise anyone popularity?

Well, in a manner of speaking. Being a star is exactly like being popular.

On Broadway, certainly. But here? This isn't going to be any different than school. Just look at what our star potential has gotten us there. Granted, I haven't seen a single slushie machine, but that's really only a mild improvement.

Ignoring your completely unfit song choice, I don't see why you feel the need to declare yourself leader. Again. Aside from keeping your ego inflated, of course.

Oh, Kurt! That was so kind of you to finally recognize my star potential. Of course we'll go far, and we'll have all the little people to thank. And certainly, with that potential, we can hand on potential in turn to all of these people. Just like popularity.

Okay. Back up. Either you have some type of mental disability that gives you a severe case of selective hearing, or you're doing that on purpose.

You know, Kurt, jealousy is very unbecoming of you.

Hm? Jealous? Hardly. I can't imagine myself ever being jealous of someone like you. You're far too tacky to even be in my league, let alone be my direct competition.

Look, I understand using Wicked was probably not the best show of choice considering what happened this last year but you really need to put that behind you.

And you really need to be less conceited. I put that far behind me a long time ago. I wouldn't change a thing about what went down that day.

All I meant was that someone who doesn't know a thing about popularity can't really guarantee it to anyone else. I, on the other hand, might be more useful in that regard.

What do you know about popularity?

More than you do, that's for sure. Aside from being the generally more likable of the two of us in glee club, I also managed to rise up the social ranks a little by becoming a Cheerio. That, and I'm also the most well-dressed person in the entire student body, whether it goes recognized or not.

If it's not recognized, it doesn't mean anything Kurt.

[Totally trying to ignore the cattiness]

Why don't you two create a glee club here TOGETHER? You can be co-captains!

Frankly, it would be nice to see you two cooperate for a change.

It means everything to me. At least I know that when people turn their head to look at me, it isn't because I look like I rolled around in a toddler's closet before coming t-

[Oh. Hi there, Ms. Pillsbury. Kurt looks from her to Rachel.]

...I'm not sure Rachel's ego could handle having to share the position. [Why yes, that was a shot. ...But it wasn't a refusal.]

[Her ego will have to get used to it, or Emma will put Rachel in the GOD DAMN CORNER.]

Well then, Rachel, what do you think?
