"Sam!" Rachel's been practically buzzing around the house all morning, trying to get everything ready for Sam. The guest bedroom had originally been something she and her Dad had decorated, but she'd allowed her Daddy to remodel it with darker, more neutral tones. Something that would be easier for Sam to change to his tastes.
Her Dads were gone now, but they'd left the card for groceries on the kitchen counter so that Sam could stock up on things he'd like to eat.
After prom, Rachel had definitely considered Sam a friend. So there was really no reason her friend should have to go pay to stay in a hotel when he was coming back to Lima at her request and she had an empty bedroom.
Swinging the door open, she throws her arms around his neck before stepping back to let him inside. "Come in, come in! Is that all of your stuff?"
Sam makes sure to leave the basement door open so they'll hear the front door when the pizza comes. "Suddenly having flashbacks from your party," he says as he follows her down the stairs. "You were so drunk," he teases her, grinning at the memory.

"I haven't touched an alcoholic beverage since." She sighs, shaking her head as she moves to pick the DVD up of out the ridiculous case they have tucked in the corner of the den and popping it in.
I was thinking the same thing... Nothing is coming to my mind right now.Do you have any suggestions?dontcrysammyFebruary 19 2012, 19:49:00 UTC
She wasn't the only one who wasn't so keen on drinking ever again. "Yeah... the only alcohol I've had since then was that champagne we had to celebrate me coming back..." During school hours. He was surprised Mr. Schue let that happen, but apparently it was okay when you needed it for a song performance.
He takes a seat on the couch and examines the DVD cover once she puts the DVD in. There's a guy on the front in a red costume who looks like some kind of supervillian. "From the producers of Saw," he reads. "It's definitely gonna be gory then." Awesome... He's such a boy.

"That was fun, but it was also a much more controlled environment." She points out, plopping down next to him with her soda and the remote, hitting Play. His observation makes her giggle a little and she shakes her head. "You boys and your gore. Sometimes, it's not all about that."
I'll let you know when I think of one... and I didn't notice it was back. Thanks for telling me!dontcrysammyFebruary 19 2012, 20:05:24 UTC
"Cool, Anthony Head is in this," Sam says excitedly. "Giles from Buffy," he adds in case she doesn't know. "I love the Buffy musical episode..." He notices another name he recognizes in the listed cast. "Paris Hilton is in this? Oh my god, now I'm worried," he laughs.
Same. No prob!acontrollistFebruary 19 2012, 20:07:45 UTC
She knows who Giles is. "Giles, I know..." After a minute, she laughs. "Daddy had this thing for David Boreanaz. So. It was all Buffy and Angel all the time for like 2 years." His comment about the musical episode makes her smile. "That was my favorite episode. Shockingly. And don't be worried, not even she can ruin this."
"David Boreanaz is a good-looking dude. I don't blame your dad for being into him. And we should rewatch that episode sometime," he suggests as he opens his can of soda. Unfortunately it managed to fizz up on the journey from the kitchen to the basement and it ends up exploding all over his shirt. "Crap..." He stands up in surprise.
"I'm pretty sure we have all of the seasons on DVD." Rachel nods to the case of DVDs in the corner, tucking her legs up underneath herself as she waits for the movie to really start. Of course, the spray of soda makes her gasp and flinch so that she doesn't get splattered...until she turns to see Sam drenched in the stuff. And then she can't help laughing. "Oh my God! Are you okay?!"
He laughs when she asks if he's okay, like the drink had been capable of causing him an injury. "I'm fine, just wet... I'm hoping you didn't shake the can on purpose or I'd be forced to retaliate." Without thinking, because it's become like second nature to him to take off his clothes off in front of people now, he pulls his wet shirt over his head with the intention of changing it for a clean one. It doesn't occur to him that Rachel might not be comfortable with him suddenly getting half naked in front of her.
"Of course not! I'm not Noah! Or Finn!" She sticks her tongue out at him, still laughing a little as she sips at her own, sufficiently unshaken, soda. And then the shirt is gone and she almost ends up covered in soda as well, choking just a bit and turning her head away so she can swallow and take a deep breath. It's not as if she's never seen him shirtless before. Just...never so up close.
At first he doesn't know why she's pointedly looking away... and then it clicks. "Sorry, force of habit." Well, this is several kinds of embarrassing. "Nothing you haven't seen before though, right?" He tries to make a joke of it, but is instead reminded of the dollar incident. "Uh... I'll just... go get a new shirt." Holding his soda-covered shirt he climbs the stairs and heads to his room, glad Rachel's dads aren't home so they don't see him coming from the basement half-naked and get the wrong idea. Whilst Sam is finding a new shirt, the pizza arrives.
"No, no, it's fine. I completely understand." She still doesn't want to look, though. It'd probably have been less embarrassing for both of them if she'd never looked away in the first place but she didn't want it to seem like she was oogling him or anything. "I'll pause the movie." She nods as he leaves, leaning over to pause the movie. With him gone and the volume off, she can hear the knock at the door.
Standing, she heads to the door to pay for the pizza and it's sitting on the coffee table when Sam returns.
Sam appears again in a fresh shirt, his face brightening when he sees food on the table. "Awesome," he grins, taking a slice and chowing it down as Rachel hits the play button. And it's a good thing Sam doesn't mind gore otherwise he'd be throwing up his pizza at many of the violent scenes of the movie. But since he's a boy he loves how graphic it all is, along with the comic book panels being a comic book lover and all. It's pretty much the perfect musical to start Sam off with and he's almost sad when it's over.
Full from pizza, it feels natural to be nestled against Rachel on the couch. He's not sure how exactly they ended up like that but he's not complaining. "I can't believe I just watched an opera all the way through and enjoyed it."
"See?" Rachel grins down at Sam's head in her lap. He's cut his hair since prom and after he laid down during her bathroom break, she just let him lay his head in her lap when she returned and she's been playing with his hair for just about 45 minutes when the movie goes off. "When have I ever steered you wrong, Sam Evans?"
If his hair were still long, much like a girl's, she probably could have braided it. A couple of times her fingers felt so good in his hair he almost felt like closing his eyes but had to force them open to watch the movie. With the movie over, he allows his eyes to close for a few seconds, humming contently under his breath. At her question he turns so he's looking up at her with a smile. "Santana always told me you had bad taste but she's totally wrong."
Her Dads were gone now, but they'd left the card for groceries on the kitchen counter so that Sam could stock up on things he'd like to eat.
