[Chopper knew just how common it was for Luffy to head out on his own without a single word. So much so that he didn't really bother checking up as much on his frequency as with others. There was no need, because no matter how far he wandered, he was still here. And even if he did get into trouble, he had his chip out so he definitely had the means to defend himself by now. So when the tiny reindeer had started to make his way back home from another outing to the hospital, he had no idea that Luffy had left again

{The very air around him was rippling with the heat his body cast off. It was a physical manifestation of how absolutely livid he'd been. He barely noticed Chopper till the little reindeer spoke. He glanced to the burning table with a bored expression.}

[Something was wrong, so very very wrong but Chopper didn't bother wasting time asking questions (even if he should really be demanding them because Ace could have just as well set their apartment room on fire) as he just sped into their bedroom and yanked off the blanket he tended the use on his small bed, running back into the living room and trying to fan out the flames somehow.

He was panting very heavily, more than he ever normally would because it was incredibly hot in the room. Not as bad as Alabasta but it was still more than he'd want to deal with for a prolonged amount of time. But he kept going and ignored the dizziness that was starting to settle in from all the heat and his overexertion. Chopper looked up at Ace and yelled frantically, almost angrily.]

{As Chopper ran into the bedroom, Ace was already struggling to turn down the heat. He squeezed his eyes shut, clenching his jaw as he tried to quell his anger. This was insane, there was nothing he could do... nothing. Just like when he as up on that platform at Marineford.

His attempts were failing miserably. Luckily Chopper's shouting broke through to him. Unfortunately he just snapped back.}

BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO!! {But reality sort of slapped him in the face as he looked at his little brother, fighting the small blaze. Something about that scene spoke to him and he frowned. It was like the doctor was struggling against his anger. He sighed softly and lifted a hand. He curled his fingers in towards his palm once he grasped the heat of that fire. Slowly but surely it shrunk before smoldering completely. He stared at the charred remnants with a distant, pained expression. He then sunk to the fallen couch and dropped his head into his hands.}
