Two weeks since this letter, no response. Mutual friends tell me that the sleaze in question has been banned from Corset's future events, and also that one of the band members wants to talk to me personally about this...but no contact since last week, when I was advised that said member wanted to talk ( Read more... )

*shrugs*

It could just be the holiday season. It can get crazy socially.

Maybe put them in limbo until next year and then add them to the "do not recommend" list and let it go.

I dunno. Dude saying he wanted to talk to me and then not talking gets severe points deducted for flakiness, even after the initial two non-acknowledgements.

I recommend you don't go any further than filling in the event promoters, because it's their job to handle said PR disaster, or contact the band in question's representation (if any) to handle it. If nothing comes of that, you'll have to cross that bridge when you get there.

^ What these two said. Addressing the actual problem as they seem to have done (whether it was at your behest or otherwise) constitutes a minimal acceptable response, I'd say. It'd be nice/polite/responsible of them to get back to you personally, but I can imagine lots of reasons for them not to have. Life can get busy, after all. And maybe said band member will get around to getting in touch with you sometime down the line and fill you in.

I guess what I'm saying is that having potentially dangerous sleazebags trawling the crowds in your band's name at your band's events is unacceptable, being bad at correspondence is annoying but not such a big deal.
