Haha! Well NORMALLY I love blood. That's definitely one of the best things about hockey.

And HAH! BUFFALOES ARE SUCK!

(Just kidding! I actually like those Buffs. And Miller. And NOT A NINNY!)

I feel for you...I had some serious insomnia issues for several weeks a couple months ago - not fun. I really have no advice though...I have no idea why I can actually sleep again, apart from making myself get up early every morning so that I would be more tired at night. But what are the chances you'll do that;-)? I remember trying sleeping pills a couple times awhile back, but they made me feel like I couldn't breathe - I'd rather not sleep than not breathe.

I'm a sleeping pill junkie - I've been taking them since I was 17! I think I need to switch it up or something... :/

I HAVE to get up early (ish) tomorrow, so maybe that'll help. Waah.

from one FULL ON insomniac to another

the only time i kick it (for a week at a time, at least) is to have a completely exhausted day cuz i go to bed at 3am and make myself get up at 7am and stay up all day

I know, I should do that. The only problem is, then I'm like, dead tired for a week and that's when I tend to get sick and infections and stuff. I can never really get over a brutal day really quickly.

Besides, Mae doesn't come that early! ;) I have to get up at 11am tomorrow (today) and so I'll probably get about... 6 or 7 hours at least, which is a lot of most people, but I need 10 dammit!

BTW Bren, you would be so proud of how much I'm eatting!!!!!!

I can certainly empathize with your insomnia problem. I had it the whole time my son was in Iraq and beyond. I had hoped it would resolve once he got back stateside but that was a futile hope. After 1 1/2 years of sleeping approximately 2 hours a night (and after trying every home remedy known to mankind) I finally broke down and talked to my doctor about it. Since I am terrified of sleeping pills, she was able to reassure me and prescribed a medication called trazodone. It worked like a charm and has none of the nasty side effects so many insomnia drugs have. I no longer take it every night----only when I've had a stressful or overly tiring day----and sleep very well without it. Good luck getting your insomnia resolved. It may be a trial and error process with medications but it is worth the effort!

I didn't see the play where the guy got 'slashed' but saw it in replays on cnn and espn several times. It was horrific!

I'm used to taking sleeping pills (pills of any kind!) so I have no issue with that, but I'm thinking I need to change whatever I'm taking because I should be sleeping! I'm gonna look up trazodone - thanks!

because I haven't slept all night through for about two weeks either. I woke up last night at 1:30, went back to sleep after reading for 30 minutes, then woke again at 4:40 just before you called me. AGH! I think we seriously need to get out of the apartment and do something. Tomorrow is the day girlie. I feel your pain!(and apparently your sleeplessness)....oh don't you love all those ssssessss?

Insomnia...is not fun. I don't have it as bad as you, but sometimes, around the time of my period, I can't get to bed at all. I read to fall asleep. But for some people, you got to take away all stimulants, like books and TV. A trick I do is to shut my eyes, and whatever I do, I don't open them. No matter what. I eventually fall asleep.

And OMG poor Zednik! I am totally facinated by the Malarchuk throat slicing video, so I was sort of interested to see Zednik's video on youtube. It is very macabre of me, but something about horrible events happening on live television facinate me.

Hey, that's what I usually do! (Just close my eyes and not open them.) That hasn't been working for me lately though. I'm like, ADD at falling asleep! I can't lie still, which is saying something because I can't hardly move in the first place! BAH.

Oooh, seeing awful things happen live is what sustains us as a people. This is why we all care what happens to Britney Spears, even if we try to lie and say we don't care. WE DO!
