wow. so much new since I was up there. I don't think there was a way to get down to the base on the Canadian side when I was there.

There must have been, the Maid of the Mist tour has been there since 1846 and you need to get down to the water level for that.

unless you mean the tram? That was just from the hotel level to the street level below at table Rock Plaza. To get to the water level you have to take the elevators down. I don't know how long the tram has been around.

I took the maid of the mist from the US side. I really don't remember anything that went down on the CA side. Maybe there was and I just don't remember. There certainly is a lot new there since 1992.

Mark Twain wrote an essay about his visit to Niagra Falls. He mentions walking down a stairway to get to the bottom of the falls. It's pretty funny.
