Look at history, humanity hasn't changed. and fear and lazyness are still the most universal traits.
But Jess, please don't upset me about stopping the spinning of the wheel. You're right that we don't know the answer, but that is never the answer... this much I know. Believe me, ok? *hug*
Yeah I get really sick of everyone thinking they know the real truth and nothing but the truth. But none of us know it really. Grr. It kind of reminds me of a song though. Especially the hamster wheel thing

... You just listed all the reasons that stopped me from studying philosophy.
WE ARE ALL WRONG. I can't say this enough. I can't shout it loudly enough to be heard. WE ARE ALL WRONG! All of your information is coming from somebody else, all of your opinions have no meaning other than what the events of your life dictated to you, and all of your fact is mere perception.
Damn right. And that's the whole point, people take theirselves too seriously, think what they think is right, is the truth, a fact. And that's what pisses me off most about the whole Iraq thing, that the US just thinks they can decide what's right, what's the truth and what should be done. Why can't everyone just mind their own business? Why do some people have that enormous urge to stand up and convince other people that what they think is the truth? Of course, if no one did this, we wouldn't have scientists, and we wouldn't have philosophers, and we wouldn't have politicians. That's the problem, we NEED people to think they're right to keep the whole circle going,

umm..i care what you possibly have to say!fendraMarch 30 2003, 20:08:05 UTC
no matter what we think, it's influenced by our environments. it's like the analogy that if you throw a rock into the water, the ripples all touch each other. every person is like a ripple pattern, and it's impossible not to come into contact w/ the other ripples. that's not warped or wrong, that's life. we live in a vast, swirling river of information and just because we can't control it doesn't make it bad.
(damn, i didn't mean to sound that idealistic, but i hope it helps a tad. [insert trademark fendra hug here..]

You've just told us all the truth there is. Truth is unsatisfactory, at best. But my earlier comment stands.
