normally i don't like tom brodbecks writing style, and normally i don't post news articles in my LJ... but this one is too good to not post, considering the debates we were having during the election a few months ago:

The Doer government is simply living up to their promises. It's true that had the Liberal child care plan gone ahead, Manitoba parents might not have been any better off in the context of childcare. However, Manitoba taxpayers would have been better off, because the funding would be coming from the federal government, rather than the province.

This applies to Manitoba only. The governments of most other provinces do not have progressive and comprehensive child care funding strategies like Manitoba does. Parents living in those provinces will likely see many of the MCCA's predictions come true.

right, they could come true... but the point is, the MCCA was dead wrong here at home, which is what we predicted.

i admit i didn't read that whole link, because it bores and enrages me at the same time, but heres my problem with all the 'arguments' on there..

doublespeakn : any language that pretends to communicate but actually does not ( ... )
