In which I discover a Harry Potter/Alexander McCall Smith crossover

In the Guardian, of all places.

Dumbledore's death in the style of Alexander McCall Smith.

Turns out to be quite a few years old, but it's still a goody.

Having read several of the Numer 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series, that slightly soothing, slightly patronising set of books that really only works when you're very tired, I lol'd.

I remember that competition! I've never seen that particular entry, though - thanks for the amusement.

I think there was a Father Brown one somewhere, which is less obviously canon.

But I still like this one best - it perfectly catches those long, repetitive dialogues that are rather soothing if you're not properly awake, and maddening if you are.
