Just watched a play called "The World We Live In (The Insect Play)". I called the director today to ask if I could attend tonight (it was only a pick-up rehearsal) since I work on all of the nights when they're performing it for real. Watched Shopgirl tonight with Sam. I laughed harder than I expected, although I do think I would have cried if I had been alone. It was a beautiful movie and good to dissect, but I don't believe Steve Martin's voice fits dramatic narration very well ('Father of the Bride' was similar in subject matter, but an entirely different delivery I think). Somehow I thought moving back to Corvallis would make my life more boring. Not so. Perhaps it is not so much the city that creates interest as my own... whatever. This has been a strange few days, and it continues to disintegrate.

Classes were fine today. Skipped my english class because we're doing Shakespeare's sonnets and I just did that last week in my Shakespeare class. I could teach the section. History was excellent. Didn't get too bored, found out that I got a 26 out of 25 on my midterm (got half-points for an extra credit I guessed on), and my professor agreed very ( Read more... )
