Want Vs. Need

Yes sometimes people give you what you wnat or need as a gift, but sometimes they get you something because they think you would like it. The concept of a gift may seem on the outside a very egocentric thing to the receiver but what we often fail to concider that the gift is given to us by another person and the reason for their particular gift is up to them. Your wants and needs are a guidline for what to get you but it is not the final arbiter of what to get.

Just because its not on your list dosnt mean they didnt put the same amount of thought into it. Sometimes we get stuff for people because we thought they might enjoy it. I didnt ask my Mom for my copy of "Clockwork Orange" but I got it anyway and I am happy about it. After conversation with pouncykitten I found that I am not getting a number of things I asked for in her next care package in lui of other stuff, though I would like the stuff I asked for I am still quite content in the fact of Im getting something from her. See thats just it
it was not a matter of I want what i want and thats all that i want
Its a matter of i have limited space right now to put things, so i asked people for small things that are easily stored

it would be kinda like if somebody sent you a futon while you were on float, yes it would be more comfortable, and you may like it, but where they heck are you going to put it?
