When I realized the movie was coming out soon, I put my name on the reserve list (600 something) and got my copy on Thursday after work. I only got 11 pages in before I could really dig into it on Friday. And it was done by Saturday afternoon ( Read more... )

I have neither read the book or seen the movie. The plan is to see the movie first at this point as I find I am more likely to still enjoy the book after seeing the movie, but am known to hold grudges when movies change the books (depends on the if I can get the reasoning behind the changes or not).

Well, I felt the reasoning behind the most major changes was the rating...I heard they made some changes even after it was filmed to get a PG-13 rating instead of an R rating.

There were definitely some changes that got to me more than others. There was one minor change that bugged me like CRAZY, but probably most people wouldn't care about.

I thought it was well done and really enjoyed it. Went with a group, and we all came out saying we can't wait for the second movie. My friend Robert and I agreed we liked the Arena in the second book a lot better. I keep wanting to speculate, but I haven't read Pete the second book yet!

I didn't read the book before I saw the movies because I do the same think you do. I compare and most of the time the inaccuracies bug me. So I just wanted to enjoy it before nitpicking it. I loved it. I thought it was well done.
