It occurred to William as he left the compound that he didn't actually have that specific an idea what Rupert did with his days. Oh, there was bound to be some flirting and possibly generalized rough-housing of some variety, but he had no idea who he did it with, or where ( Read more... )

"FUCK," Rupert barked, after rolling over in the military style bedding (aka stolen blankets and a pillow on the clean, packed, bamboo-covered floor of his sturdy if not overly-aesthetically-pleasing abode) and digging the heel of his palm into his eyesockets.

"Uff," Rupert huffed and pushed past William with a lot of early-morning swagger to find a tree to lean against with one hand. His other he needed to use for something somewhat more basic yet, inexplicably, often more complicated then leaning.

"Gods, it's bloody bright out," he muttered, squinting blearily upward. This was all done with his back to William, of course, although to be honest that was born of the fact that the nearest tree had set him facing that way, and not actually any sense of propriety, or care for William's sense of propriety.

While he waited, he amused himself by imagining Rupert's sudden capture at crossbow-point by Borogravian guerilla soldiers. The situation called it to mind.
