So, dugindeep put up a post commiserating about the new era of fandom. She was saying how hard it feels to bring fandom together across too many spaces. I thought I would clean up my comment and post it here, because fandom has changed and maybe we do need to think about how to change with it, but sometimes I feel like a crotchety old fandom lady.

My longtime LJ friend, denyce, has suffered a family tragedy and lost her brother recently. She lost her mother a few years ago and her father is not in any sort of place to help her out much with the arrangements for her brother's cremation and memorial. So, I’ve started seeing a counselor for my health anxiety, which causes me anxiety in and of itself, since I don’t like talking about my anxiety. But anyways, I had my second appointment today and I realized I never shared with you all what happened in my first session.

So, I have this friend, lizibabes. She is pretty fucking awesome. To earn a little extra money - just enough for a movie now and then or a night out to dinner - she has tried a few things.
