I am very proud of my city today. This weekend my little Michigan town had its very first Pride festival & parade. I went out for a while to watch some of the performances and check out some of the vendors

Glad to hear about that! LGTQ youth should have a place to gather, without fear of being beaten up by some homophobe.
I can't imagine what a difference it must make for LGBTQA+ youth to have a place to find their own people, to explore their sexuality in a safe environment (ie a place to meet & discuss and learn).
Sadly, the weekend after the non-discrimination ordinance passed here in my city, the head of our LGBTQA+ community and the head of the fight for the NDO, saw his house burned to the ground with all five pets inside. Luckily neither he nor his wife were home. They never found who did it, but it was labeled as arson. :(
