The first episode of Classic Who I saw was City of Death. I saw it a couple years ago because it was recommended to me by a friend who was a big fan of Four.

I loved it. Four is now one of my favorite Doctors and Romana is my favorite companion. It also gave me my first Who OTP.

It made me interested in the Classic show and I started tracking down the episodes. Though my favorite Classic Doctors are Four and Eight.

I saw my first (and so far only) episode of Classic Who after seeing seasons 1-5 of New Who. It was the episode arc with the Mona Lisas that said "This is a fake!" on them. I forget the title. I was curious about Classic Who after seeing all that New Who, and a friend pulled that episode up on Netflix for me.

I remember a few impressions. One, Tom Baker isn't David Tennant (my favorite Doctor), but he's very good, and I like him a lot. Two, I want to see more Classic Who! Three, I really enjoyed the story. I wasn't sure how I would feel about Classic Who, but I really liked those episodes. Unfortunately my impressions haven't changed since I've still only seen the one episode. I need to watch more!

I always worry about the over-recced ones (of anything), because they could never be as good as people imagine. I suppose people pick out City of Death as being relatively accessible or something. I mean I love it tons (one of my favourites) but it's not for everyone.

I think I remember parts of "The Masque of Mandragora" as a kid, but the first serial I saw in full was "An Unearthly Child." I liked the First Doctor's adventures, and it's a bummer to see so little things about him nowadays.
