"My Little Pony"'s Doctor Who Homage

"My Little Pony" is no stranger to Doctor Who references, but for it's 100th episode, it turned the tables by swapping the spotlight from the main cast to the fan-favorite background characters, one of which had already been affectionately dubbed by the fandom as "Doctor Whooves" due to his hourglass cutie mark and resemblance to David Tennant

The Doctor Who reference wasn't just a quick blink-and-you-miss-it scene like a lot of other references, it seriously spanned the entire episode. Including a crossover with The Big Lebowski where the Doctor bowls on their team.

I mean, since it was episode 100, the whole thing was just self-indulgent celebratory fan-pandering that a lot of people aren't going to get if they're not familiar with the fandom memes. And yet it still managed to have a relevant moral at the end of it in the form of "the people you don't normally pay attention to have their own lives and stories, too, that are just as important".
