I'm a teeny tiny bit concerned about the news that the BBC are moving the Dr Who timeslot to 8.30pm so they can show Strictly Come Dancing in the normal Who slot - I know that Strictly's a huge thing here in the UK, but I'd have thought that the number of children who love Dr Who would make it more worthwhile to show it before Strictly. To be honest I'd much rather have the 8:30 slot than the 5:30 slot. Getting home, getting dinner ready and eating before Who started was a pain.

I think around 7 is the perfect time for Doctor Who. I guess it's easy for me to say being an adult but I'd rather 8:30 than ridiculously early. I do feel for families though. But having said that, I remember being allowed treat nights on Saturdays where I got to stay up a wee bit later. That's age dependent of course!

I hope that it'll be seen like that, I think what worries me is the importance of Strictly over Who.

I know it's what happens with any successful show, but it is also the reason shows have a limited lifespan. And like you're already feeling, this move may not be to advantage both shows.

But most fan criticism is because they are concerned about the show going downhill and potentially losing viewers... we all just want it to be the best that it can be, which should in turn attract a larger audience...
As for the increasingly later timeslots, it's almost like they are deliberately aiming this series at a slightly older demographic. Some of the things in the past few episodes struck me as *way* too scary for young kids - maybe they weren't allowed to put them on earlier?
