I don't normally post my thoughts on individual episodes, but I loved "The Day of the Doctor," so I wanted to do it this time. I just (finally!) saw the episode for the first time last night, so bear with me. This will likely be a bit disjointed. Obviously I'm putting it under a cut for spoilers.

I think we lost something tangible by undoing the Doctor's actions just because Clara had a wibbly bottom lip.

I'm thinking he's now going to be considered Thirteen (or Fourteen, if, like Moffat, you count Metacrisis 10 as a regeneration), given that John Hurt's doctor was included in the lineup of incarnations in the closing scene, and his face appeared in the part of the end credits where we see all the Doctor's faces (he's also apparently been added to the promotional photo for the "50 Years" trailer that was aired not too long ago). That actually wasn't Capaldi who said "No sir, all thirteen!". I thought it was, too, but on forums like Gallifrey Base, people have said that according to subtitles/captions, it was one of the other Time Lords in the war room with the General.
I loved all the scenes with the three of them, too, particularly the one where they all meet for the first time. John Hurt was given some great zingers in that :D ( ... )
