Kinda sorta covered here, I'd say yes, it's been done.

I'd ask, given what he'd learned from the process the first time, how would he have changed his process and plot/script. It sounds like it was, overall, a very negotiated process.

Oooh! Here's what I'd really like to know: What personality traits did they want the Eighth Doctor to have that were distinctly his -- different from other Doctors? How did he go about trying to put those traits into the the script?
