Doctor Who Celebration in London plus Mysterious Video: #thefourth

Tickets for the official Doctor Who 50th anniversary convention in London go on sale on Monday. This will be a three-day event for 15000 people. Matt Smith, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy will be there all three days and Tom Baker on Saturday the 23rd. Further high-profile guests to be announced soon. Tickets go on sale for the general public at 11am BST on Monday 8th July, but you''ll be able to enter a code at the website to be able to book tickets starting from 9am (see in the comments of this post).

Matt Smith says, “The event this year will be an extra special occasion for me, I’m truly looking forward to a huge celebration with the fans in the lead up to the 50th anniversary episode.”

Ticket holders will have access to a whole range of activities including:

• Guaranteed seats to two theatre panel shows featuring star guests from 50 years of Doctor Who (The Eleventh Hour panel with Matt and Regenerations panel with Colin, Sylvester and Tom)
• Guaranteed seats in a spectacular special effects show hosted by Doctor Who’s special effects guru Danny Hargreaves. (SFX Show panel)
• Activities in the main halls including: stunt workshops with Doctor Who stunt co-ordinator Crispin Layfield and stunt double Gordon Seed, audio and visual effect workshops, on-stage panels with cast members, walk-like-a-monster master-classes with Doctor Who’s official monster choreographer Ailsa Burke, quizzes and games for fans young and old and plenty more to ensure the whole family have an amazing day out celebrating Doctor Who.

There will be two times for each of the three panels every day for Friday 22, Saturday 23 (only day Tom Baker will be there) and Sunday 24, and when you buy your tickets you can choose which set of timings you want (see here for more details on timings).

Ticket prices:
Adults: £49.04 (including £4.04 booking fee)
Children: £22.12 (including £2.12 booking fee)
Family (2 adults, 2 children): £110 (including £6 booking fee)

VIP TARDIS ticket prices:
Adults: £95.50 (no booking fee)
Child: £44.25 (no booking fee)
Family (2 adults, 2 children): £218 (no booking fee)
Children under 5 are free, but must be able to sit on someone's lap for the panels.
The VIP TARDIS ticket guarantees front row seats to the theatre shows, a private lounge for use all day, drinks and light refreshments and a special goodie bag with exclusive merchandise which can be collected on the day guests attend.

Visitors to the Celebration will also have the opportunity to visit signature and photo booths (photos with Matt Smith should be booked in advance via the website). These opportunities will be available at a fee and subject to availability.

Also, apropos of nothing, a Fourth-Doctor themed teaser video popped up on the Doctor Who youtube channel. Maybe they wished for people to think of Tom Baker as they celebrate 4th of July or maybe it has to do with merchandise, but it prompts the use of the hashtag #thefourth.
