He can always donate them to special collections libraries at universities. My current university library (as well as my undergraduate university library) has an impressive SF collection and would probably love to have something like this.

You can buy the old issues in bulk for under $10 so no they are not collectible. Take your friend out to lunch to say thank you. I had most of the same issues and gradually gave them to fans who wanted them. It might be worth looking through to see if there are 4 and 5 stories. You can always pass them on to other fans. :o )

the best way to decide if they are collectible is to see what they sell for on ebay. maybe the above commentor is someplace where they are more common, but on this side of the pond they are not easy to come by.

A typical price for what a bulk lot sells for on ebay from the 70s-90s. American ebay has had a pretty steady flood of DWM's for years. Just talking about it on this forum though we might drive up prices for sellers this week. :o ) In Oregon I bought them at the grocery store back in the 80s.
